A wanted subject was in custody as of 5:49 am Wednesday morning.
At about 1:41 am, Waterloo police were called to Casey’s Pub in Waterloo where a male subject was bragging that he had warrants in Mason City. The male subject left with a femaile subject before police arrived. After further investigation, the subject was seen checking into the Econo Lodge in Waterloo. The man was later found hiding in a women’s bathroom.
Police also arrested 46 year-old Karen Kay Henderson of Mason City for accessory after the fact and interferance with official acts.
One November 27th, 2011 at 5:29 am, the Mason City Police Department received a report from a female who was being treated at the emergency room for injuries she received after being allegedly assaulted by Kai Michael Smed, age 31 years.
After the assault, the victim claimed she was was not allowed to leave the residence of use a phone to call for assistance. She was treated for her injuries and released from the hospital.
Smed was in custody Wednesday and booked for:
