fireRURAL CLEAR LAKE, IOWA – A fire engulfed an old Ford Bronco outside Clear Lake, but the occupants escaped safely.

The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says on June 2 at about 7:50 PM, Cerro Gordo County Deputies responded to a vehicle on fire near the intersection of 290 street and Grouse Avenue, directly north of Clear Lake. When deputies arrived, they discovered a 1972 Ford Bronco that was engulfed in flames. The occupants of the vehicle were Daryl and Barbara Ouvrson of Clear Lake.

The vehicle appeared to have extensive damage to most of the vehicle. The Ouvrson’s were not injured in the incident.

The preliminary cause of the fire was a gas leak near the engine compartment.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Clear Lake Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol.
