OSAGE — The state of Iowa has approved a $1,000,000 loan to support a significant industrial expansion in Osage, signaling a major boost for the Mitchell County economy.
The funds will be administered through Osage Municipal Utilities, acting as a pass-through entity, to provide the necessary capital for A to Z Drying Inc. This specialized manufacturing company, which focuses on customized spray drying services, plans to use the investment to acquire a massive 234,200 square foot production and warehouse facility. The move to this larger site is expected to drastically increase the company’s operational capacity and streamline its logistics.
Beyond the physical growth of the plant, the project is anticipated to have a direct positive impact on the local job market. Officials estimate that the expansion will result in the creation of 19 new full-time positions, providing a welcome lift to the regional workforce. A to Z Drying Inc. plays a critical role in various supply chains by converting liquid products into dry powders—a technical process essential for the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. By securing this loan, the company is positioned to scale its niche services and solidify Osage’s standing as a competitive hub for specialized manufacturing in Northern Iowa.
