
WATERLOO – A woman was found dead in a Waterloo home, and cops quickly nabbed a suspect in the apparent killing.
According to Captain Gus Farmer of the Waterloo police department, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at approximately 11:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to 3912 Butternut Lane for a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult female inside the residence. The victim has been identified as Stephanie Turner, age 50, of Waterloo.
During the investigation, Waterloo Police Department Detectives arrested Nicholas John Fettkether, age 27, of Waterloo. Fettkether has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and is currently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail.
