CHARLES CITY – A late-night traffic stop in Charles City resulted in the arrest of a local man on multiple drug-related charges and an outstanding warrant.

According to the Charles City Police Department, officers initiated a traffic stop at approximately 3:26 AM on March 5, 2026, in the vicinity of North Grand Avenue and 5th Avenue. During the encounter, police identified the driver as 34-year-old Sean Gordon of Charles City. A records check revealed that Gordon was the subject of an active Floyd County warrant for a parole violation.

Following a subsequent investigation at the scene, Gordon (pictured at top) was also charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Floyd County Jail to address both the new criminal charges and the existing warrant.  He remains held there at this time.
