Donna J. Fowlkes, 81, of Tripoli, died Sunday evening, February 22, 2026, at the Tripoli Nursing & Rehab.

Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made in Donna’s name to Tripoli Nursing & Rehab or Care Initiatives Hospice.

Donna Jean, daughter of Floyd Gilbert and Margaret (Wheelock) Fowlkes was born July 14, 1944, in Waterloo, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli and graduated from Tripoli High School in 1962. Following graduation, Donna attended Pitzi’s Beauty School in Waterloo, earning her cosmetology license. Donna began her working career in Des Moines as a beautician prior to working as a law enforcement dispatcher which began in Des Moines and took her to Strawberry Point where she worked for Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. Donna moved to North Richland Hills, Texas in the 1980’s. She completed her working career at Nissan Motor Corp where she worked in administration. Donna was a voracious reader, avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed bowling. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved attending her nieces and nephews activities.

Donna is survived by her brother, Jerry (Julie) Fowlkes of North Richland Hills, Texas; sisters-in-law, Judy Fowlkes of Tripoli and Sue Fowlkes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Fowlkes, Ron (Nancy) Fowlkes and Floyd D. Fowlkes; and numerous aunts and uncles.
