Connie A. Heinen, 74, of Garner, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 19, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Garner VFW on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Garner VFW Auxiliary or Gift of Life House in Rochester, MN.
Connie Ann Heinen, the daughter of Patricia Holden, was born on April 2, 1951, in Superior, Wisconsin. She grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School. On September 29, 1972, she was married to Gary Heinen in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home on an acreage north of Garner where they raised their family. Connie was employed at Winnebago for 14 years. After retiring, she and Gary wintered in Texas at Jamaica Beach RV Resort in Galveston, where she helped out as activity director for many years. She spent many hours doing diamond art for family and friends. Connie loved being with her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was a life member of the Garner VFW Auxiliary Post 5515 and VFW District 10 of Iowa.
Connie is survived by her husband, Gary, of Garner; three children, Conrae Huinker of Garner, Christopher (Laura) Heinen of Naperville, IL and Matthew (Annelie) Heinen of Cedar Falls; grandchildren, Samantha (Nash) Bock, Brianna (Kole) Walker, Nicholas Huinker (friend Sarah), Neomi, Minnietta, Juliana, Alexandra and Toby Jace Heinen; great-grandchildren, Karson, Parker and Jensen; a sister, Cathy (Joe) Anderson; three brothers, Edward Nelson, Bill (Rose) Nelson and Jim McDonald; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Mark Lee and Paul Lee Heinen; her mother, Patricia McDonald; son-in-law, Jim Huinker; parents-in-law, Bernard and Neomi Heinen; and sister-in-law, Loretta Heinen.
