Douglas N. “Doug” Martin, 75, of Fayette, Iowa, died Monday morning, February 2, 2026, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.
Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 9, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard, Iowa with Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating.
Visitation: 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard and for one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Inurnment: Grandview Cemetery, Fayette.

Douglas Neal Martin was born April 17, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Albert William “A.W.” and Mary “Jean” (Quinn) Martin. In 1968, he graduated from Fayette High School. On July 9, 1977, he was united in marriage to DeLois Ruth Vandersee at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette. Doug farmed in the Fayette area and was a well-known purebred swine producer (Marland Farms). The herd is nationally known for production and a product of quality. The herd is the longest continuous Hampshire herd in the nation. Doug served on the Fayette County Planning and Zoning Committee, Maple Crest Manor Board, West Central School Board, Fayette County Pork Producers, a 4-H leader and for 50 years as clerk for Smithfield Township. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard, where he served on many committees. Doug enjoyed golf, bowling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Doug is survived by his wife: DeLois Martin of Fayette; 4 children: Rachel Martin of Fayette, Neal (Jamie) Martin of Nora Springs, Melanie Martin of West Union and William (Katie) Martin of Fayette; 4 grandchildren: Quintin and Josie Martin and Ben and Willow Martin; 4 siblings: Dennis (Susan) Martin of Fayette, Vicki (Randy) Klein of Hidden Timber, South Dakota, Debra (Rodney) Feddersen of Winona, Minnesota and Duane (Karen) Martin of Fayette; in-laws: Douglas (Jo Ellen) Vandersee of Tiffin, Darwin (Denice) Vandersee of Fayette, Dwight Vandersee (Kim Franzen) of Iowa City, Dean (Cindy) Vandersee of West Des Moines and Darla (Steve) Greco of Fayette; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: A.W. and Jean Martin; and parents-in-law: Donald and Beverly Vandersee.
