July 21, 1935 – November 30, 2025

DeLoris Lorraine Lindley passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2025, with her family by her side.

A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Ave., Osage, IA. A funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the church, followed by inurnment at Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery.

DeLoris was born on July 21, 1935, in Rockford, Iowa, to Glen and Lorraine (Griggs) Hall. A proud member of the Rockford High School Class of 1953, she went on to study at LaJames Cosmetology College and later pursued dietary-management coursework. She stayed close to her roots, living in Osage before building her longtime home and community in Nora Springs.

Life picked up speed when she met Orlando Lindley, they married on September 18, 1954, and welcomed three children. DeLoris was in her element raising her family, balancing the daily bustle of motherhood with her work in dietary management at the Nora Springs Care Center, where she worked for 25 years! She was steady, capable, and the kind of person who made things happen.

DeLoris didn’t sit still for long. She loved a good card game, craft projects, road trips just to see something new, fishing outings, knitting needles clicking in her hands, and cheering through NASCAR races. If her grandchildren had an activity, she was there, often early, always enthusiastic. Showing up for her people wasn’t a chore; it was her joy.

Her energy also carried into the community. She served as a 4-H leader, taught Sunday school, and was an active, longstanding member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church. DeLoris brought commitment, heart, and a straightforward spirit to every role she took on.

DeLoris is survived by her children, Tami Lindley of Altoona, David Lindley of Kanawha, and Scot (Joanna) Lindley of Nora Springs; four grandchildren, Tony, Colten, Cody, and Amber; great grandchildren, Zander, Logan, Destiny and Sylas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Orlando Lindley and her parents Glen and Lorraine Hall.
