Marie Louise Wagner was born August 25, 1927 in Dayton Township, near Eagle Grove, Iowa to Amos and Theoline (Johnson) Wagner. She attended eight years of country school and then attended Eagle Grove High School. After High School she worked at Minnesota Mining and Dun and Bradstreet, both in St. Paul, Minnesota; Wright County Auditor’s Office in Clarion, Iowa, Security Savings Bank in Eagle Grove, Iowa; and Lake City Nursing Home in Lake City, Minnesota. While working these various jobs, Marie was also active in farming.
Marie married Harlan D. Schipull on September 10, 1949 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. They had four daughters. They farmed in Goldfield, Iowa until his death in 1961. Marie married Elwood Greene in 1962 and together they raised the girls on a farm near Renwick, Iowa.
Marie’s hobbies over the years were cross country skiing, ceramic and China painting, sewing, card club, reading, golfing, and bowling on several leagues. She was involved in various church activities and especially enjoyed bible study. Her gifts of music and piano were her passion.
She is survived by her children: Sandra (Kirk) Swanson, Kayla (Jim) Lane, Helen (Jerry) Haverly, and Lu Ann (Gary) Rieder; grandchildren: Josh, Jamie, Karrie, Steffanie, Jessica, Angela, Brandon, Jason, Jenna and Katelyn; great-grandchildren: Ava, Molly, Halle, Brittney, Avrie, Landen, Faith, Brody, Laney, Olivia, Emmalyn, Abigail, Gwen, Hannah, and Jordy; great-great-granddaughter, Sage; a sister-in-law, Lucille Wagner, and several nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband’s, Harlan and Elwood; parents; brothers: Arthur Wagner and Curtis (Joanne) Wagner; sister, Doris (Martin) Solheim, and 1 Great Grandson (Evan).
