ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA – Northern Iowa dwellers are being offered the fantastic opportunity to consume lots of news and weather from the land of 10,000 lakes, and all they need to do is re-adjust the rabbit ears on their TV, according to the teleprompter readers at FOX 47.

KXLT-TV (FOX 47) told NIT this morning that they are “proud to announce its free, over-the-air broadcast signal has expanded in North Iowa, delivering trusted local news, sports and weather coverage to more households in the area.”

Over-the-air viewers in North Iowa should rescan their antenna TVs to receive FOX 47 on channel 47.1 and its subchannels, including the new North Star Sports and Entertainment Network (NSSEN) on channel 47.2, KXLT told NIT. NSSEN features local, regional and state sports programming, connecting Iowans with their favorite teams. Coverage of the IHSAA Football Semifinals will air on North Star Sports and Entertainment Network, with plans to add more North Iowa sports events in the future.

North Iowans also now have access to FOX primetime shows, FOX Sports programming and the area’s first local late news, KTTC News on FOX at 9 p.m. Additional subchannels include Heroes & Icons (47.3), ION Mystery (47.4), Quest (47.5) Court TV (47.6) and Laff (47.7). Cable and satellite viewers are not affected by the signal expansion and should check with their providers for local programming.

“We are thankful for this investment Gray Media has made in the KTTC and KXLT viewing area. Expanding the KXLT signal into Northern Iowa means giving more access to free, over-the-air programming. It is part of our commitment to growing the way we serve the communities who depend on us for essential news and weather information and live sports and entertainment,” said Stephanie Hedrick, Vice President and General Manager, KTTC-TV and KXLT-TV.

HOW TO RESCAN YOUR TV

1.Find the “Settings” or “Menu” button on your remote control.
2. Find a section called “Channels” and scroll to “Channel Tuning.”
3. If prompted, select the “Auto Tuning” option, and click the button. The TV should start scanning on its own. This could take several minutes. Once the process is done, you should have access to FOX 47 and its subchannels. If not, you may have to adjust your antenna and go through the process again.
