Donette Mae Siefkin Clarke, daughter of Donald and Darlene Siefkin, was born on September 25, 1962, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She attended Arnolds Park School through the 10th grade and later earned her GED.

In 1987, Donette was united in marriage to Kevin Clarke in Menlo, Iowa. The couple later divorced in 1994. Over the years, Donette worked as both a bartender and a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

Throughout her life, Donette lived in several different places but made her home in Spirit Lake beginning in 2024. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing word searches, and she especially loved playing foosball—always eager to take her place as the goalie. Donette treasured time spent with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. She also shared a special bond with her mother through their dart league and was proud to have traveled to Las Vegas to compete in a tournament.
