June 24, 1970 – January 2, 2026

Lewy L. Curtiss, 55, of Bloomington, Minnesota, and formerly of Mason City, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Edina, Minnesota.

Lewy Lee Curtiss was born on June 24, 1970, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Lee Curtiss I and Florence (Booth) Curtiss. He attended Eleva Strum High School in Wisconsin and later Wilcox Central High School in Wilcox, Arizona. Life eventually led Lewy to Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota, where he met his best friend and life partner, Katie Miller. Though their journey included time apart, their bond remained unwavering. The greatest joys of Lewy’s life were “his boys,” Jacob and Joseph, and he was incredibly proud of them and all they accomplished, never missing a chance to brag about them.

Lewy was an entrepreneur at heart and had a rare gift for turning just about anything into an opportunity—often joking that he could make money selling dirt. He was a people person through and through, always quick with a joke and able to bring a smile to those around him. Lewy loved being on the road, traveling, and simply driving. He cherished time spent with friends and family and never met a stranger.

Left to cherish his memory are his life partner, Katie Miller; his boys, Jacob (Jordan) Mitchell and Joseph Mitchell, all of Mason City; his sister, Denise Tipton of Northwood; his beloved dog, Kratos; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lee Curtiss II; and his sister, Roxzanne Bridges.

A Celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 18, 2026 at The Moose Lodge, 22 4th St NW, Mason City, IA 50401 starting at noon. Please come and honor the life of Lewy Curtiss with his family.
