RURAL LEE COUNTY, IOWA – A young Iowa man was tragically killed Saturday when his 1983 Yamaha motorcycle left the road and struck a utility pole in a remote location.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 13, 2025, a 1983 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling at the 1900 block of County Road 103 in Lee county, Iowa. The Patrol says that the driver, 18-year-old Lucas Timothy Johnson of Farmington, Iowa, failed to negotiate a curve in the road and entered the north ditch, and then struck a utility pole.
As a result of te collision, Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
