AURORA, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man is in deep after he allegedly slammed on the brakes while driving his Chevy Silverado, causing a trailing woman driver in another Chevy Silverado to collide with him.
On July 30, 2025, at approximately 2:34 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle accident on G Avenue near the intersection of 20th St. Aurora. Upon Deputies arrival it was learned that Adam Timothy Duffy age 39 of Aurora was traveling north bound on G Avenue in a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 when he intentionally hit his brakes causing the vehicle traveling behind him to collide with his vehicle. The 1994 Chevrolet Silverado was driven by 41-year-old Candice Carroll age 41.
The Silverado driven by Carroll sustained disabling damage.
No injuries were reported from this accident.
Duffy was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail. Duffy is being charged with domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury, and assault with intent to inflict serious injury, and remains held on a $2,000 Cash only bond.
This incident remains under investigation by police.
