Dennis Gibson Huntbatch, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the IOOF Home, Mason City. Per his wishes, he will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
Dennis was born on May 21, 1943 in Mason City, to parents Gibson and Florence (Dannen) Huntbatch. He grew up on a farm outside of Swaledale and graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School. He went on to graduate from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s Degree. On March 4,1972, Dennis married Betty Bergman, and together they had two children. Dennis loved to hunt and fish, and he enjoyed going to Texas every winter to escape the cold. He was also an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Dennis started his own insurance and real estate agency in Rockwell, where he worked for 35 years.
Those left to cherish Dennis’s memory are his wife of 53 years, Betty; son, Scott of Mason City; daughter, Nicole (Aaron) Briggs of Hubbard; grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Aspen, and Kinsley Briggs.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joanne Price.
