Out-of-control Iowa woman bashes victim with metal pole

BURLINGTON, IOWA – This Iowa woman set about striking her rival in the noggin with a metal pole, and cops say she smashed windows at a house first, leading to an emergency response and serious charges.

On Friday, May 9, 2025, at approximately 6:18 AM, officers from the Burlington Police Department responded to the 600 Block of Dunham Street regarding a female that was struck in the head with a metal pole by another female. When officers arrived on scene, they identified the female suspect as 23-year-old Justice Nuss of Burlington.

Upon speaking with the victim and witnesses, Nuss was observed breaking windows of the residence and destroying the house. The suspect was further observed chasing the victim and striking her in the head, unprovoked.

Nuss was placed under arrest and transported to the Des Moines County Jail and booked on the following charge: Willful Injury-Causing Bodily Injury (Class D Felony)
