Northern Iowa traffic stop leads to two drug-related arrests

WEST UNION – Police stopped a vehicle in a Northern Iowa convenience store parking lot and found the people inside to be committing drug crimes.

On May 9, 2025, at approximately 2:50 PM, a Fayette County Deputy made a traffic stop in the All Stop parking lot in the city of West Union. During the traffic stop, a K-9 was deployed by the West Union Police Department. Multiple grams of marijuana and marijuana products were located including methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Steven Gerald Fields Jr., age 33 of Clermont and the passenger, Megan Danielle Durnan, age 31 of Clermont were both arrested and charged.

Fields is being charged with Possession of Methamphetamine 1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense, Possession of a controlled substance Cannabidiol 1st offense, No driver’s license, and Interference with Official acts.

Durnan is being charged with Possession of Methamphetamine 1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense, Possession of a controlled substance Cannabidiol 1st offense, and Interference with Official acts.
