WATERLOO – A pair of convicted felons from Waterloo that were allegedly involved in a bar shooting incident that left three people hurt say they are not guilty and face impending trial.
On January 1, 2025, at 12:48 AM, Waterloo police officers were dispatched to SACs Neighborhood Pub, 2000 Hawthorne Avenue, on the report of a subject being shot. Officers and Waterloo Fire Personnel arrived and located three gunshot victims. The victims had been parked in a vehicle in a parking lot adjacent to SAC’s bar.
Victim one was struck in the upper body and was transported to a nearby hospital where they were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The second victim was struck in the mid-section and was transported to a nearby hospital where they were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The third victim had a graze wound on their face and refused treatment.
As a result of the investigation, Waterloo Police have charged 31-year-old Sadorieous Daquiellin Collins with the following crimes:
– Willful injury (three counts)
– Felon in control of a firearm
– Intimidation with a dangerous weapon
Collins has entered a not-guilty plea and awaits a March 25 jury trial.
Later, police arrested 30-year-old Taevon Washington of Waterloo, on a charge of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Records show he is a convicted kidnapper and sexual abuser. He has entered a not-guilty plea and awaits a March 25 jury trial.
