FOREST CITY – The Waldorf University Jazz Ensemble will host their annual Fat Tuesday Jazz Concert on Tuesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the Boman Fine Arts Center with Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High School Jazz Band as the special guest of the evening.
The Fat Tuesday Jazz Concert honors the Mardi Gras tradition of celebrating the time that comes before fasting within the Lenten season. This year, the concert repertoire consists of predominantly New Orleans style jazz music, including numerous improvisation solos from the Waldorf Jazz Ensemble. Following the performance, there will be a dessert reception in the mezzanine.
Admission is $5 for the public and free for students. Tickets can be pre-ordered online at bomanfinearts.org or purchased at the door.
