Roger “Buster” Lee Marsh Sr., age 91, of Mason City, passed away peacefully at home under the care of MercyOne North Iowa Hospice on Friday, February 7, 2025. Arrangements are with Fullerton Funeral Home.
Roger was born on August 1, 1933 in Manly, IA, son of Harold and Beatrice (Crumb) Marsh. He attended Manly schools and later enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Roger was united in marriage to LaVonne Berding in 1958 and to their union, two children were born: Roger Jr. and Tammy Ann. The couple later divorced in 1975. Roger retired from Northwestern States Cement Company after 40 years. After retiring, he ran his horse stables for many years. Roger had the honor to participate in the Winnebago Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tammy Marsh; grandchildren: Cory (Paige) Marsh and Aubrey (Mitch) Webb; great-grandchildren: Briggs and Remi Marsh; sister-in-law, Deloris Marsh special friend; Polly Bellinghausen and her children: Penny and Fawn and her granddaughter Lexxis and great-granddaughter Scarlet; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and many four-legged friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Marsh Jr.; parents, Harold and Beatrice Marsh; sisters, Evelyn, Shirley and Pat; brothers, Harold and Gordon; and his special friend’s daughter, Kandi Bellinghausen.
