FAYETTE COUNTY – A Mason City truck driver survived after his semi collided with a train.
On January 22, 2025, at 2:14 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a train versus semi accident on T Ave near the intersection of 20th street. When a deputy arrived, it was learned that 33-year-old Shane Kellner of Mason City was driving a Mack semi when he was unable to yield and collided with the oncoming train.
Police say no injuries were reported, and Kellner’s vehicle sustained minimal damage.
The accident remains under investigation.
