BOONE COUNTY, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests and prosecutions for week of November 25 – December 6, 2024.

James Allen Clark, 62, Fort Dodge, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea to Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, a Class D Felony. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison, all suspended. On the suspended portion the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

JAMES A. CLARK

Justin Richard Watts, 42, Colfax, was sentenced by the District Court following guilty pleas to Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd, a Class D Felony as a Habitual Offender; and, OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with a minimum 3 years if ever served, all but 2 days suspended. On the suspended portion the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

JUSTIN R. WATTS

Lance Eugene Tjernagel, 45, Madrid, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea to OWI 3rd, a Class D Felony. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years in prison, with placement to an OWI program and residing out of custody pending placement, plus a course for drinking drivers, and payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

LANCE EUGENE TJERNAGEL

Isaiah Thomas Bolden, 22, Des Moines, was held in Contempt by the District Court following a stipulation to having violated the terms of his probation. On the Contempt, the defendant was ordered to 25 day in jail and to resume probation.

Alexander Mariano Rivera, 29, Mason City, was held in Contempt by the District Court following a stipulation to having violated the terms of his probation. On the Contempt, the defendant was ordered to 22 day in jail and to resume probation.

Stephanie Danielle Faust, 31, Ogden, received deferred judgments from the District Associate Court following guilty pleas to two counts of Possession of Fentanyl, both Serious Misdemeanors. On the deferred, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Alexia Ann Wilson, 24, Boone, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Carol Ann Taylor, 56, Windsor Heights, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Roger James Devries, 57, Ottumwa, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Harassment 3rd, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Ogden Police Department.

Jean Ann Carte, 59, Boone, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Disorderly Conduct, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

Eric Douglas Stevens, 58, Ames, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Taylor Anthony Thornburg, 35, Boone, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Public Intoxication, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.
