LINN COUNTY – A teen is fighting for his life after becoming trapped between a skid loader and a bale of hay on a remote Iowa farm, authorities say.

On October 28, 2024, at approximately 5:26 PM, Linn county deputies, Linn County Rescue, Marion Fire, Area Ambulance, and LifeGuard Air Ambulance responded to a farm accident at 1777 Martin Creek Road in rural Linn county. Emergency personnel arrived on scene to discover 74-year-old Gerald Munier of rural Marion, Iowa, was moving a hay bale with a skid loader when a 15-year-old juvenile male became trapped between the skid loader and the bale sphere.

As a result of the incident, the juvenile was transported to a local hospital by Area Ambulance for what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
