Roger C. Moser, 88, of Charles City, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, with his loving wife by his side, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, where he had resided since April 25, 2024.

Roger C. Moser, 88, of Charles City, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, with his loving wife by his side, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, where he had resided since April 25, 2024.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Roger Charles Moser was born near Greene, Iowa, on August 19, 1935, the son of Norman Clark and Lucy Hannah (Meek) Moser. He graduated from Greene High School in 1953 and continued his education at the Iowa State Teachers College (now known as University of Northern Iowa) earning his degree in 1957.

Roger worked in various management positions at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company for 35 years until it closed. He then worked at Solvay Animal Health until he retired in 2001.

Roger married Jean “Jeanne” (Venz) Mixdorf on February 15, 1975. They were avid snowmobilers traveling to northern Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan numerous times in the winter months with special friends. Roger and Jeanne also enjoyed traveling other places together as well, including trips sponsored by First Citizens Bank. Summer months found them on the golf course with friends participating in husband/wife tournaments and other golf outings. Roger was a member of the Cedar Ridge Golf Course for 40 years and the Elks Lodge for many years.

Living family members include his wife, Jean “Jeanne” (Venz) Moser; son, Todd (Julie) Moser; daughter, Shelli (Jimmie) Benson; three step-sons: Mike, Steve, and Robert James Mixdorf; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Roma Jean Marshall, Ruby Smith, and Beverly Moser; brothers: Marvin Moser and Melvin in infancy.

The family would like to thank the nurses and CNA’s at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home for the care given and meeting the daily challenges of Roger’s care. Jeanne thanks St. Croix Hospice for their
