CLARKE COUNTY, IOWA – An elderly Iowa man drove his Silverado pickup truck over a highway center line and collided head-on with a Lexus and lost his life.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on the afternoon of December 1, 2023, in Clarke county. At 1:35 PM that day, 91-year-old Jack C. England of Osceola, Iowa, was traveling east on Highway 34 west of 160th Avenue in his 2022 Chevy Silverado. At the same time, 33-year-old Tiffany L. Oswald of Murray, Iowa, was traveling west on Highway 34 in her 2015 Lexus RX350. England’s Silverado crossed the center line and struck Oswald’s Lexus head-on.
As a result of the collision, England was killed at the scene. Oswald was life flighted by helicopter to a Des Moines hospital.
