CLEAR LAKE - The City of Clear Lake has announced Troy Tysdahl as the new director of Health, Wellness, & Recreation in their community.

CLEAR LAKE – The City of Clear Lake has announced Troy Tysdahl as the new director of Health, Wellness, & Recreation in their community.

From the desk of City Administrator Scott L. Flory:

“I am very pleased to be able to announce that Mr Troy Tysdahl (pictured above) has accepted an offer of employment from the City to be our new Director of Health, Wellness, & Recreation. This was the result of an extensive selection process that generated approximately 25 applicants. He will officially assume his position on July 1st, in order that he may fulfill his contract with the Clear Lake Community School District.

“Tysdahl brings an extensive and impressive background in both academics and work-related experience. He has served with distinction in various capacities for the Clear Lake School District, including most recently as Athletic and Activities Director. His exemplary service to the School District and leadership in that organization made him a well respected figure in this field”, stated Scott L. Flory, City Administrator.

“The Clear Lake Athletics and Wellness Board worked collaboratively with the city and the school throughout the process to identify candidates who could continue to improve the wellness and recreation programs and maintain the strong operations of our Wellness center. “We had strong candidates and Mr. Tysdahl’s passion for our community members of all ages and his breadth of skills made him a great choice for our director position”, said Tony Brownlee, the current Clear Lake Athletics and Wellness Board president.

e standout aspects of his professional experience to me was the direct relationship that the Wellness Center enjoyed with him in his capacity as Athletic Director. His ability to work effectively with coaches and current wellness center staff in a challenging and complex environment made him the ideal choice”, stated Council Member Mark Ebeling.

“Mayor Nelson P. Crabb stated that “Mr. Tysdahl’s ‘service-oriented’ perspectives on leadership in his prior positions and also in our Community demonstrate that he will make a significant impact and will be an asset to this Community in a meaningful way for years to come.”
