MASON CITY – Twitter has permanently banned the Globe Gazette “newspaper” from its platform.

The Globe Gazette is banned from Twitter, apparently gone forever, just like its Monday edition newspaper.

As the Globe Gazette has always been the “newspaper of record” in Mason City, as chosen by the city council, NIT reached out via email to city leaders for reaction:

As reported by the Des Moines Register, the Globe’s “editor” Lisa Grouette (who used to work in a local insurance office answering phones) was clueless as to what could have caused this highly-embarrassing turn of events:

As reported by Des Moines Register

No one yet knows if Lisa Grouette possibly typed something inflammatory to the popular social media site?  Twitter typically bans the most-heinous of offenders, like Donald Trump, racists, crackpots, goofballs, psychos, and other unsavories.  Now, the local Mason City newspaper is apparently in that club.  Citizens pray the Globe can right its ship before it is totally out of business and delves into the dark depths of complete and total irrelevance.
