STORY COUNTY – Two people died in a head-on crash on an Iowa highway recently.
The Story County Sheriff’s Office responded to a head-on collision east of Nevada, Iowa, at 3:10 PM on December 29, 2022. The collision occurred in the east bound lanes of Hwy 30 and approximately one quarter mile east of 248th St.
The investigation and witness reports indicated a Chevrolet pick-up was traveling westbound in the east bound lanes of Highway 30 colliding with a utility van. Both vehicles involved were occupied by one male adult, both occupants were declared deceased at the scene.
This is an ongoing investigation, information on the occupants are still being withheld. The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by Nevada First and Fire, Nevada Police Department, Colo First and Fire, Story County Medical Center, and Mary Greeley Hospital.
