FAYETTE COUNTY – A Northern Iowa man was hunted by cops after allegedly molesting at least one child under 5 years old.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office sought the public’s assistance in locating an alleged child sex abuser. After a two week investigation charges were filed and a nation-wide warrant was issued for Matthew Eric Nordrum, age 45, of Clermont. Police charged him with sex abuse in the second degree, a class “B” felony. Nordrum allegedly sexually assaulted a child under the age of 5 while the child was at his home in Clermont, as well as several other victims. The investigation also led to three other allegations that are currently under investigation for sexual assault.

On May 17, 2022, at 10:30 AM, Nordrum turned himself in to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office where he was held on a $25,000 bond.

Further charges are pending in this case.
