Iowa woman killed in ATV rollover accident

SCOTT COUNTY, IOWA – An Iowa woman was killed in an ATV rollover accident.

On August 28th, 2021 at approximately 1:03 PM, the Scott Emergency Communications Center (SECC) received an emergency call for an ATV rollover accident in an open grass and dirt field at 12119 100th Avenue in rural Scott County.

This area is in the south western part of Scott County near Buffalo, IA.

On scene investigations showed a 2016 Polaris ATV Razor was driven by 25 year old Keegan Loveless of Davenport. While driving the ATV one of its wheels was tripped and the vehicle began to roll over.

During this rollover a passenger, 25 year old Abigail Platt of Muscatine, Iowa was ejected from the ATV.
This ATV is equipped with 5 point harness seatbelts, neither one was wearing them.

Upon arriving to the hospital, Platt was pronounced deceased. Loveless suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene.
