Fort Dodge man accused of burglarizing rural Iowa saloon

STRATFORD – A remote watering hole was burglarized by a Fort Dodge man, police say.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says that during the early morning hours of August 17, 2020, the Copperhead Saloon in Stratford was the victim of a burglary.
With the assistance of the Webster County Sheriff’s Office and the Webster City Police Department, the suspect was identified as Daniel Shane Anthony, age 30, from Fort Dodge. Daniel Anthony was charged with the following, as a result of this investigation:

1. Burglary 3rd degree, three counts, a class “D” felony in violation of 713.6(A).
2. Criminal Mischief Second degree, a class “D” felony, in violation of 716.4.

Anthony remains jailed in the Webster county jail, pending court proceedings.

People like that is what makes this world a shit hole!

If you are looking for a nice small town to live in, it’s Stratford. People come out of their houses and help newcomers move in. Like most small towns it’s changed some over the years. But it is still a nice place to live.
Sorry about their watering hole getting robbed.
