IOWA CITY – University of Iowa women’s basketball freshman guard Kate Martin will redshirt the 2018-19 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and lateral meniscus in her left knee last weekend.
Martin, a native of Edwardsville, Illinois, is a two-time all-state and all-metro honoree. She led Edwardsville to back-to-back state semifinal appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2017.
Martin will undergo surgery at the end of June.
