Law Enforcement Investigate Found Body in Webster County

iowa dept of public safetyWebster County, IOWA — On July 10, 2013, at 5:40 PM, the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call in regards to possible human remains found in the roadside ditch in the 2500 mile of Madison Avenue in Webster County. Webster County Deputies responded to the location and did find human remains of an unidentified white, adult male. The Webster County Medical Examiner was contacted and the remains were sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and cause of death.

As of 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2013 the manner of death has been ruled a homicide. Investigators are approaching the investigation accordingly and consider the circumstances suspicious.

An investigation is being conducted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Webster County Medical Examiner, State Medical Examiners Office, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Dodge Police Department, and Iowa State Patrol.
