John Stone

MASON CITY – Local Democratic leader and activist John Stone passed away Thursday, January 3, 2018.

Mr. Stone was 71 and known as a long-time Democratic Party activist.

As the Cerro Gordo county Democratic Party reported Thursday, “With heavy hearts we must report that our beloved chairman, John Stone, passed away this morning. He was a staunch advocate for progress and a strong Democrat. He dedicated many years to the party and its success, and had looked forward to 2018 as a year to unite and fight for political justice. His will was apparent; even on days where the pain was an impossible burden to handle, he could be trusted to head each central committee meeting with purpose. His love for politics and activist spirit will remain a legacy. John was a very proud Democrat.”

  1. I repented along time ago but like you say about Trump I guess I cannot read likewise. Not knocking the feller just his Anti American party .

    1. Then why bother to comment? Apparently, you’re a Republican who looks down on anyone who’s a Democrat. Go somewhere else. I can tell you’re not one iota of the person John Stone was.

      1. How can you tell from the post “Not much to see or read here.” that “Apparently, you’re a Republican who looks down on anyone who’s a Democrat.” “I can tell you’re not one iota of the person John Stone was.” You sure picked up a lot of LIBFOMATION from the post. I got none of your “lib spin” from the post. P. S. Was Bodacious your school teacher?

    2. The fact that you felt the need to talk smack on an obituary says volumes about the kind of person you are.
