MASON CITY – Mason City police were called to a store in the Indeanhead shopping district Wednesday evening and took a woman to jail who is already facing theft and meth possession charges.
Employees at Jo-Ann Fabric, 500 Indianhead Drive, were dispatched to investigate a shoplifting incident at the store on November 9 at about 7:16 PM. Officers arrived and arrested 32-year-old Amber Willenborg of Mason City.
Willenborg was taken to the county jail on a charge of third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. She posted bond and was released from jail.
This arrest is just the latest legal entanglement for Willenborg.
Cerro Gordo deputies assisted Mason City police on a theft call Sunday night, August 14 at about 8:53 PM at the Target store, located at 3450 4th Street SW. Allegedly, Willenborg was at the store, attempted to steal merchandise, and then fled the store and drove away. A deputy was in the area and located Willenborg’s car and she was stopped and arrested. Willenborg was taken to the county jail on multiple charges, including third and fourth degree theft, possession of meth and two other drug charges. She was soon released form jail, pending a court date.
On November 4, a guilty plea in that case was entered by Willenborg and her public defender. She has been free as she awaits a December 5 sentencing hearing.
