Mason City man arrested for felony theft and burglary after deferred judgement on prior crimes

MASON CITY – A Mason City man who was given a deferred judgement in April for prior theft crimes was arrested Saturday morning after a burglary and theft incident north of town.

Cerro Gordo deputies responded to a burglary incident at 21910 Owl Avenue, north of Mason City city limits, at 10:45 AM Saturday morning. Mason City police were called in to assist. After an investigation, 27-year-old Mitch. L. Buesing was apprehended and arrested. He faces charges of felony third-degree burglary and felony second-degree theft.

Buesing was taken to the county jail and held on $5,000 bond and remains there at this time.

Buesing was recently given a deferred judgement after previous crimes.

On August 12, 2015, a Walmart employee reported the theft of $1,200 of electronic merchandise (headphones, Ipads) that occurred a few days prior, on August 3. MCPD officers attempted to contact the suspect – Buesing – but were unable to make direct contact. The investigating officer then applied for an arrest warrant for Mitch Buesing charging him with 2nd Degree Theft. He was later caught and arrested. In March judge Karen Salic accepted his guilty plea. She gave him a deferred judgement including dropping the charge to theft in the third degree, 2 years of probation, and ordering him to pay $2,090.00 in fines, fees and restitution. A charge of fourth-degree theft also resulted in a deferred judgement with probation and $820.99 in fines and court fees.

Also in April, Buesing was guilty of two counts of fifth-degree theft in Worth county. He was ordered to pay $320.00 and $437.50 in fines and court fees.

Furthermore, according to Mason City police, on November 26 at 6:36 PM, a shoplifter was reported at Fleet Farm. MCPD officers arrived and waited outside for the subject to leave the store. Employees followed the subject outside and were met by the officers. The subject, Buesing, was charged with 5th Degree Theft and Removal of Theft Detection Device. That charge was dismissed.

His bail is to low and should sit in jail for a very long time sham on him

DITTO to ALL~~ and then get remove the senseless Judge off the bench!

Exactly

Why would he stop if he keeps getting off?

Why is this P.O.S. still on our streets?

2 thefts at Fleet Farm were dismissed in exchange for a guilty plea for the lowered Walmart theft, and the 2 amended 5th deg thefts at the casino in Worth county. What a ridiculous amount of second chances for this idiot. Clearly he’s not even good at stealing if he keeps getting caught.
