A Cerro Gordo deputy assisted at least three Mason City police officers in locating three youngsters after a call to police was made. Another youth reported that three subjects “took money out of his hand”. According to law enforcement reports, the officers and the deputy responded to the area of 850 East State Street just after 7 PM Thursday evening, September 10. The three subjects were located and eventually, the money was returned to the victim.
Police said that the parents of the three subjects who took the money from he fourth youth were notified and the victim and his parents declined charges.
Police didn’t release the names of the youths.
You guys took the bait again….. amazing! The story line reads “Mugged” yet there are no facts stated in the article that supports that label. The money was returned and the parents of the minor children involved decided against filing charges. Rush to judgement and retreat in shame.

Hey….. lighten up. “Mugged”……hardly. This crime of the century was just a bunch of kids, being kids and their parents didn’t want to press charges. Grumpy old judgmental men!

I wonder if she would condone it if these kids robbed someone that has a CCW and exercised their right to self defense?
What a great outcome, three more youth headed for a life of crime. I’d like to know who they are, so if they’re in my neighborhood I can keep an eye on them.
Later in life they may receive a bonus from a person smart enough to carry- these people have no respect for anything.
Sure, no punishment. Just let them do it again and as they grow up they will hurt someone very badly.
