The call to police was made at about 12:33 PM Monday. An officer arrived and took a burglary report. Owner George Barlas told NIT later Monday evening that “Whoever it was broke my back door – nothing stolen. Used a crowbar.”
According to Mason City police, “an attempted burglary was reported to Chop (Eleven) on Sept. 7 at 12:23 pm. Forced entry was attempted on an exterior door. It does not appear that entry was gained. The business is believed to have been occupied during the time when the forced entry was attempted.”
Eleven Lounge along with the Chop Restaurant were closed by Mr. Barlas last week after the city council took action to deny a liquor license.

Are you implying that this wholesome family business might have had problems?
You’re seriously asking that question? Um… hello!! Unless, ya don’t consider tax evasion, murder, and how many FAILED businesses “problems”…. then, nope- no problems there!
And daddy’s troubles in the 70’s when he had cigs hid under the stage and his helper was dumping more in the river out back? And didn’t they get sued in the 80’s too while at Pheasant Run? Pillars of the community….
