Wanted Mitchell county man caught and arrested after multi-agency search effort

RURAL MITCHELL COUNTY – Regional law enforcement worked together to capture a wanted man in Mitchell county this week when he fled into a field.

The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office had been seeking information in locating 22-year-old Nicholas Lenz of Mitchell, who was wanted on a Mitchell county warrant in connection to burglaries in the area. He is also accused of domestic abuse assault that included strangulation; he will face a September trial in that case.

According to the Osage Police Department, Lenz was apprehended without incident by Mitchell County sheriff’s office on Friday afternoon after he had fled into field near Osage and was surrounded. Other law enforcement also assisted, including Cerro Gordo deputies, Iowa State Patrol, Worth county, and others.
