LAKE MARY, FLORIDA – The man famous for killing Trayvon Martin in a “stand your ground case” in 2012 has been arrested again after throwing a bottle of wine at his girlfriend.
George Zimmerman, age 31, was arrested by the Lake Mary Police Department and booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility at approximately 9:45 PM Friday night.
Zimmerman was charged with aggravated assault after it was reported he threw a bottle of wine. Zimmerman faces aggravated assault charges at this time and he spent several hours in jail. A judge ruled he must surrender all his firearms.
Zimmerman was released form jail and awaits a court appearance. He was acquitted of charges in the February 26, 2012 shooting death of unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.
