MASON CITY – You’ve seen his face in the news numerous times over the past several months, involved in various nefarious activities. The slow, creaky wheels of North Iowa justice finally caught up to Jordan Holmes, and he will now be visiting a jail cell for up to 10 years.

Jordan Holmes, age 24 of Mason City, pled guilty on June 9th to felony C willful injury causing serious injury.   He was sentenced to ten years in prison and assessed $1,751.80 in court costs and fines.

Holmes had been standing near a group of people late on March 8, 2014 in the Cultural Crescent near Southbridge Mall in downtown Mason City with a curved knife in his hands, picking fights with people as they went by him. A man approached Holmes and asked him to leave people alone. Video surveillance, which had been turned over to police, then shows Holmes slashing the man across the face with the knife, and then turning and running.

Holmes was already on probation for eluding police. His probation was revoked, and he was given a four year prison term to be served concurrently with the 10-year sentence. In the eluding case, Holmes fled from police on December 21, 2013, drunk, and was later caught at his house. He was charged with operating under the influence, failure to use headlamps when required, interference with official acts, failure to maintain control, eluding law enforcement, assault on a peace officer, and driving while suspended.

Holmes was transported to the Iowa Medical Classification Center on June 18th for processing so that he can begin serving his prison sentence.

Holmes has been in the news numerous times since 2012, accused of violent crimes, and many times, escaping with little punishment.

Holmes was arrested by Mason City Police Officers for an incident that occurred on April 29th, 2012 in which he was charged with an aggravated misdemeanor count of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, a misdemeanor count of false imprisonment, and a simple misdemeanor count of domestic abuse assault. He was fined and spent two days in jail.

In November of 2013, Holmes was charged with interference with official acts, aggravated public intoxication, and assault on a peace officer after police investigated a large fight on 10th Street NE. Holmes was with the aggressors in that incident, traveling in a car with a drunk driver, that ended up in downtown Mason City. Holmes and the others were headed to the bars when police caught up with them.  Three other persons were charged in that case, as well.

Holmes was arrested again in November of 2013 by Clear Lake police after he was discovered to be in the company of a Mason City woman who had stolen her friend’s vehicle and ransacked her possessions.

Earlier in 2013, Holmes beat a felony D criminal mischief charge in a plea bargain and accepted a guilty plea of aggravated misdemeanor criminal mischief. He was assessed by Iowa courts $3,132.94 in court costs and restitution, but never made a payment. He served virtually no time in jail for that offense.

No mandatory minimums like with drug sentencing. He could be out after serving 1/3 of his sentence.

THANK GOD he wasn’t charged with drugs or he’d have to do his whole sentence!

With any luck at all, maybe this “Violent face slasher” will run into a violent ass pounder once he hits the prison gates. It would serve him right.

@Philosophus Not by Lorados u moron. By Eleven. That is where all the violence is these days. Lorados patrons have changed over the years decent people & a mix of alternative types who love good music.

Eleven is a scary place. Fights everytime they open the doors. Go ask Tommy and the bouncer….men & women beating/slashing each other, sex in bathrooms, mostly blacks with big fat white women. The men don’t pay for the drinks…need to watch your drinks for rufies. North Enders…

Lorados has changed over the years, but from what many of the regular patrons of the nineties have said: ‘It’s changed FOR THE WORST.’ Some words to describe it: CLIQUEY, AGGRO, VIOLENT, STUCK UP, CLOSED CIRCUIT, OVERRATED, MONOTONOUS. It’s the nexus where the so-called “legitimate people” converge with the druggy underworld. It’s like they’re trying to be a Speak-Easy of the 1920’s where people snuck off to be bad and drink copious amounts of booze.

One of these times, old Jordan is gonna run into the wrong (or right?) cop, and he will get properly ventilated. Trouble is, there’s no shortage of them to take his place.

Typical Lorados crowd. Hey isn’t that where the KIMT kids usually end up for late night drinks? Yeah, we’ve all seen them in there. Reporting on all the bad people, then fraternizing and drinking with them later in the evening. Party Party…living the Ron Burgundy dream.

Finally! Up to, 10 years doesn’t sound good. It’s funny how people like this go to prison and pretend to find Jesus, get out in two years or less then revert back to their heathenistic ways. No matter what, before they let him out they should give him a lobotomy, and a hair cut…
