Melee on 10th Street NE results in concussion, man held at knifepoint by attackers

MASON CITY – More details have emerged in the wake of a large fight that engulfed a North End street this weekend, leading to a number of persons charged.

According to a report, Mason City police responded to a dispute call at 338 10th NE on November 16th at 12:21 AM as residents of the area were allegedly set upon by people who were at that residence.  Several persons were involved in fights leading up to the police call, and at least one person was injured.

According to a source who commented on condition of anonymity, “approximately 22 people came (from 338 10th NE to another nearby residence which will not be named in this story) and jumped 4 innocent people. I suffered multiple kicks to the head resulting in a concussion by Shedida Parker and another unidentified black female. My fiancé was held by knife point on our steps. The neighbor across the street suffered many injuries needing stitches and another neighbor who came out to help also got jumped by 7 unidentified individuals. None of the victims knew or had any affiliation with these people.”

The person who told NIT about the incident said that the attack was a case of mistaken identity.

“The story boils down to the people came to the wrong residence,” NIT was told by the source. “They were intend(ing) to go down to (another) house. Earlier in the the night there was a confrontation between (people at the other house) and a few people who were going to the party (at 338 10th NE).  The (people at the other) house questioned where (the party-goers) were going as our street is typically quiet as it’s a dead end. They shook hands though and each went on to their own business. Apparently the (people from 338) were still upset though and called in reinforcements. Which in turn brought approximately 22 people to the wrong residence (the source’s home). When told they were at the wrong place and needed to leave as police were being called I was pulled off my step and thrown to the ground (and beaten by Shedida Myralea Parker). They had brass knuckles, knives and intent to harm as they also jumped the other neighbor coming out to help. Innocent people attacked by people they didn’t even know.”

Seven Mason City police officers responded to the disturbance.

The alleged attackers fled the scene before police arrived.  After a brief investigation, police sought a 2003 blue Honda Accord with Minnesota license plates that contained people who may have been involved in the incident. That vehicle was later located, police records show, and two persons were arrested and a third charged.

Shedida Myralea Parker, age 22 of Mason City, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, unlawful consumption, and assault causing injury. Parker was also cited for driving under suspension.  There was no immediate information on a court date for Parker, who is still being held in jail.  Records show a Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s deputy who made the traffic stop performed a blood alcohol test – the only test he performed that day – on an un-named female subject at 2:24 AM on November 16th and the subject blew .108 and .107.

Braiden Despenas, age 17 of Mason City, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Isaac Michael Dockum, age 20 of Mason City, was cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol.  He has a court date set for December 11th.

Perhaps the people who are promoting bring all this big city trash here should be held responsible.

did anybody get charged with terrorism or do these dirty cops only do that to victims when other cops scum grandsons are involved the cops are the criminals in this town they sure change there tune when turned into fbi

And whom would you contact if you were to get into a situation where you needed help if it weren’t for the police?

Advice for ‘infamous’; go back to school and demand a refund. The comment you wrote is impossible to understand. And when you do comment again, perhaps you are willing to give details as to how the MC Police are “dirty”. Do they now shower and shave?

I think Shedidit.

I also agree with Charles Barkley.

Anyone know the address on 10th ne?

Yes. It is listed in the incident log.

@usmc-338 N. 10th. I think that would take you pretty close to Pennsylvania Ave.

Are these the voters from this ward? Just asking.

MCPD needs to start dishing out wood shampoos to deter this behavior.

More good news, thanks to Kathy Burtness at Mason City Housing Authority. To suck up and keep her cushy job, she’ll turn this whole town into one big drug-dealing fistfight.

austin – what’s the matter? Did MCHA turn you down?

@That had to hurt-yeh, they do not live in his neighborhood so he doesn’t care. If that is the second ward Hickey won’t care either. I

@LVS, that kind of thing does happen in the second ward as well but I think all of the counsel members are instructed not to comment.

The new Landlord law should help. The people that were at the end of my alley dealing drugs and where a stabbing occurred were evicted.

Where did they move, across the street? They’ll start roaming all over if they don’t have housing.

You all don’t know how this type thing started in places like Detroit do you?

Detroit use to be just like Mason, a little bigger of course but it started out the same way.
