Clear Lake, looking toward Ventura

Clear Lake, looking toward Ventura

MASON CITY – Godbersen-Smith Construction of Ida Grove was working on a road and culvert project Monday on the Ventura grade when they struck a sewer force main, releasing a small, but unknown, amount of wastewater to Clear Lake.

Clear Lake Sanitary district responded immediately and shut down the pump station that serves the Ventura sewer line.

Repairs are expected to take at least a week, because the broken pipe is below water level.

Until repairs are completed, the sanitary district is emptying the lift station in Ventura and transporting wastewater to the wastewater treatment plant. No further discharges should occur.

The DNR will monitor the situation daily until repairs are made.

Separate grey water from black water and 80% of your grey water sewage water can be reused on the lawn and plants. The black water waste should be composted and used for fertilizer. The only sewage heading off to be treated should be a third line labelled “toxic” and should contain the nasty chemicals people pour down the drain. Homes of the future will separate lines into these 3 parts.

Buzz, when the shell of the structure is in place (the tires packed), I’m inviting Matt out to do a story. Excavation is underway. Basically I’m hand digging until it can line up a neighbor’s backhoe in a couple weeks. I’m surprised how much I can dig in a day.

I’m going to build you an “LVS Garden Pooping Station” out of lumber and some padded carpet. It can be moved to different spots around the garden where you can fertilize my garden in comfort. I’ll provide a Wifi signal do you won’t miss an once of action on NIT. If you are still using dial up, I can provide a buggy dolly cart for you to place your pentium 2 computer on with telephone cord connection.

You are not smart enough to dig a hole. Empty your diaper and you will have all the B.S. you need. I hear they are building a motorcycle trail right next door to your dugout. VrOOOOOOm.
