DECORAH – An Iowa sex offender who was not complying with the sex offender registry was arrested recently.
On May 19, at about 11:30 PM, Bernard D. Olson Jr., age 39 of Fort Atkinson, was arrested by Winneshiek County Deputies and transported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office by a Fayette County Deputy on a valid arrest warrant for failure to comply with the Sex Offender Registry.
Olson’s bond was set in the amount of 5,000.00 dollars and he was held in the Fayette County Jail.
Olson was arrested in 1997 in Winneshiek county for sexual abuse in the 3rd degree. The victim was a female, between the ages of 14 – 17.
