investigateAMES – Ames police continue to investigate and pursue leads related to last week’s riots that ruined the annual VEISHEA celebration.

According to Commander Geoff Huff, Ames Police made additional arrests from the disturbance on April 8 and 9, 2014, that lead to at least one serious injury and thousands of dollars in property damage.

Officer Huff said that as part of an ongoing investigation into the disturbance, investigators from the Ames Police Department have charged the following individuals:

Tucker Henderson, age 22 of Ames, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree, a class “D” felony
Austin Burbridge, age 19 of Ames, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree, a class “D” felony
Marvin Thomas, age 20 of Ankeny, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree, a class “D” felony

“We have been assisted in the investigation by the Iowa State University Police Department and the many tips provided to us by the public,” huff said.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
