Seattle Seahawks at Kansas City ChiefsNIT – Now being hailed as the “No Fun League”, the NFL has banned the uber-popular practice of the goalpost slam dunk.

The NFL said this week that dunking the ball is now outlawed and will result in a penalty if it is done. The league said that the ball cannot be used as a prop.

After a dunk last year, a game had to be delayed while a goalpost was repaired.

Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson picks off a pass for a touchdown and becomes the first person to slam dunk the football over the goal post.

The league explained that some of the rule changes coming to the NFL in 2014 including changing players conduct on the field and experimenting with moving the point after to the 20-yard line.

Has the NFL gone too far in taking players’ freedom of expression away?

  1. If one of the behemoth’s bend the goal post during a game it would create a lengthy delay and that wouldn’t be fun for the fans. If you spent the money on a top notch driveway basketball hoop would you want the neighborhood kids hanging on it… Probably not.

  2. I tell you what NFL! Keep banning the celebration and you will see the NFL stand for Not watching Football for Long! Your over rated and too expensive.
