MASON CITY – A man who called police about being stabbed was quickly proven to be a liar and taken to jail Sunday.

Mason City police were called Monday evening at about 6:13 PM by Rueben Hickman, age 18, who told dispatch that he had been stabbed. Police responded to North Pierce Avenue and 1st Street NW. Hickman was located and was found to be uninjured.

A female Mason City police officer held Hickman at taser-point until four more officers arrived on the scene. Hickman was arrested for false reports and interference. He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail at this time on $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Sunday’s arrest is at least the fourth arrest of Hickman by North Iowa authorities since October.

  1. There is a show on tv about people who lose a ton of weight called the “biggest loser”. NIT should start their own version of that show except it would not be about weight loss it would be about dimwit career criminals like this, and this dumbass would be the first winner of NIT’s Biggest Loser”!

      1. @Matt….and there are so many other choices IE: Kantaris, Sauers, Hadacek, Veal…you would never run out of candidates for NIT’s Biggest Loser!!!
