MASON CITY – A battle between a mother and a daughter brought cops to this upper-middle class neighborhood Thursday night.

Police were called to 975 Briarstone Drive in Mason City on Thursday evening at about 8:55 PM. A caller had alerted police that there was a disturbance in the residence, and loud yelling could be heard. It was also stated that a female was intoxicated.

Mason City police arrived, and at least three individuals were in the home: Bonnie Mussman, age 69 of Clear Lake; Shelly Cagle, age 53 and daughter to Bonnie; and Brad Cagle, age 51. The Cagles own the property.

Police arrived and attempted to sort out the situation. Brad Cagle complained of back pain and an ambulance was called to the scene. It was not known, immediately, if he was transported to a hospital. Police ended up making no arrests. Police referred to the incident as a “verbal domestic between mother and daughter, officers talked to both subjects and the daughter left for the evening.”
