MASON CITY – A Mason City woman wanted on warrants fled cops this week and was caught and jailed.

According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Shannon Renae Lybarger, 26, “was discovered inside a home in Mason City that deputies were checking. When deputies were placing her under arrest she tried to run and was apprehended after a short foot chase.”

Lybarger was arrested on outstanding warrants and charged subject with Possession of Paraphernalia and interference with official acts. The warrants stem from probation violations from convictions on felony D forgery, felony D burglary and theft in the third degree.  Lybarger skipped a court date on May 3rd and had been wanted since then.

The incident took place near 12th Street SE and Massachusetts Ave.

Lybarger is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on three bonds of $5,000, cash only.
